Map trial balance account information

When importing accounts, you can choose to map to new accounts or existing accounts in Onvio. The initial mapping can be applied to subsequent imports for the same contact.

  1. After you select and define your data in the import process, you can click the Map Accounts switch at the bottom of the Define Data step to enable mapping.

Note: When you choose to map accounts by clicking the Map Accounts switch, Step 3 and 4 appear in the Import screen. By default, the switch is OFF.

  2. Click Next to select your mapping method.
    • Create new mapping for accounts. This option is enabled by default.
    • Use existing mapping for accounts. This option is disabled until a mapping has been saved successfully. After an initial mapping is saved for the contact, this option is selected for subsequent imports and provides a Last used mapping for this client option.
  3. Click Next to map accounts.
  4. Use step 4 in the import process to map accounts to existing Onvio accounts.

    Notes

    • Accounts from the spreadsheet are automatically mapped to existing Onvio accounts based on the account number and account description. If no match is found, then the account will be labeled as Add as new.
    • Multiple accounts from the spreadsheet can be mapped to the same Onvio account.
    • Mapping for the current spreadsheet import is retained by the application and can be applied to subsequent imports for the same contact.
  5. Click the Finish Import button to complete the import process.

Note: If the import is out of balance, you can choose to continue the import out of balance, or assign the out of balance amount to a selected balancing account.
